1. Het hart van rasalila

Deze maand in ‘Het hart van rasalila’ leer je yogadocente Gabriela Bartonkova kennen; waar geeft zij aandacht aan in haar lessen en wat is haar ultieme ‘Shine’ moment..:

Hoe ben je bij rasalila terecht gekomen?
During my first summer in Amsterdam I was looking for something fun and different to do and one day while cycling by the canal I saw Rasalila. I went inside and felt so cosy. From the decorations I realised there was a cat lover behind the scenes and I signed up for a pole course with Flora Gattina.

A couple of years later I met Flora at a venue and asked if she would like to have some Aerial Hoop classes at the studio. Both sisters Floortje and Willemijn liked the idea!
The Aerial Hoop became popular so soon after that I started the Flex & Stretch and also added Aerial Yoga since a colleague of mine Janneke asked me to join her Aerial Yoga team at Rasalila.

Welke lessen geef je bij rasalila?

I teach Aerial Hoop, Flex & Stretch and Aerial Yoga.

Waar geef je aandacht aan in jouw lessen (wat is jouw stijl)?

In my Aerial Hoop class I focus mainly on technique and performance skills. As an aerialist and a performer I like to see the complete picture: body awareness, strength, flexibility, nice lines, flawless moves, attention to details and musicality.

I try to make my classes a good workout but to have fun with my students at the same time and share my passion for Aerial Arts.

Welke les volg je zelf graag?
I follow Kim Terpstra’s Yoga Flow on regular basis and I have totally fallen in love with it and find it very inspirational.

Thema van juni is Shine. Wat was jouw ultieme ‘Shining’ moment?
My ultimate ‘Shining Moment’ was during my last aerial performance with Sol’Air Company when me and my friend nailed an aerial silks synchronized duo act.
Not to mention that my students make me shine on regular basis when I see them achieve their goals through their hard work and dedication.

2. Yoga in de vroege ochtend. Goed begin van de dag!

Een yoga practice in de vroege ochtend is een heerlijk start van een nieuwe dag. Zeker in de zomer!

Kom dichtbij de zonsopgang met ons tijdens een yogaflow sessie op dinsdag en donderdag om 7.30. hoe start jij je dag?
